Luis Avila
Born in Miami to Cuban immigrant parents, Luis has always looked at the world from the bow of a boat. From his parents, he acquired a strong work ethic, but his deep-rooted passion for boating has also fueled his success. At the age of 12, his father presented him with an exciting prospect — his first project boat. He began repairing boats and honing his skills at the family’s paint shop. By the time Luis graduated high school, he had completely overhauled four boats.
With his father’s support, Luis launched Concept Boats in 1986 and crafted the first-ever Concept — a 17′ ski boat with a single engine. Today, the Concept Repertoire includes eight models ranging from 20′ to 44’, a testament to Luis’ vision and dedication. After 31 years, Luis remains the captain of his business, working alongside his long-standing staff, building relationships with customers, and setting the standard for excellence.
Susan Patterson
With 30 years of experience as a manufacturer’s representative for Chris Craft International, Marlago by Jefferson Yachts, and Myco Trailers, Susan is a seasoned professional. Her versatile expertise ranges from ownership of a yacht brokerage, to coordinating a dealer network in the Eastern USA. At Concept, Susan has dedicated 20 years in development and sales administration. Susan brings a strong strategic acumen arm to this recent endeavor. With her can-do attitude and unwavering loyalty, she drives her team to success.

Eric Avila
From as far back as he can remember, Eric has been living and breathing boats. Born into the family business, Eric developed a deep appreciation for the craft early on. At the age of 17, Eric began working full-time at Concept, learning everything he knows from his father. Eric is a natural problem solver, tackling each task at hand with the utmost skill, diligence and foresight. But above all, he’s a people person, always striving to provide the best possible service, making customers feel like family.
